The NZ Chin Woo Kung Fu Journey is held every 4 years and involves a 2-3 week journey to Hong Kong and Mainland China. In late 2006 a group 40 strong traveled up to Tianjin. What greeted us was a 45 minute demonstration consisting of of 300 Tianjin Chin Woo members spanning an array of arts including Wushu, Taekwondo, Judo and Sanda. Immediately prior to this demonstration, Chin Woo NZ members had paid their respects at the resting place of Chin Woo founder Master Huo Yuan Jia.

Kung Fu exchange between NZ Chin Woo and Senior Kung Fu Teachers and Practitioners from Guangzhou in January 2007
The NZ Chin Woo Kung Fu Journey is held every 4 years and involves a 2-3 week journey to Hong Kong and Mainland China. In early 2007 the group met up with senior kung fu representatives in Guangzhou for an exchange.

Chin Woo New Zealand Features on TV One News
On 7th April 2008, Chin Woo Regional Director David Chan and Chin Woo NZ Life Members Sifu Melissa Chan and Sifu Peter Sue were interviewed by Television New Zealand’s One News. Also in attendance was Chin Woo NZ member Teresa Chan.
The purpose of the interview was to get industry reaction to the China/ NZ Free Trade Agreement which contains specific provisions allowing up to 150 Chinese martial arts instructors to enter NZ on a 3 year work visa.
